Pipeline vandals at the Arepo area of Ogun State, yesterday allegedly killed ten operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in what was described as a ‘bloody encounter.
The Guardian gathered that vandals, numbering over 20 and clad in black shirts and trousers, with red bands tied around their heads stormed Arepo creeks where they broke a pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has finally laid to rest the speculations regarding whether or not the Federal Government would negotiate with Boko Haram, as the president yesterday, in Paris, the French capital, confirmed that talks with the dreaded Islamic terrorists had, in fact, begun.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports that Maitalle Koko, the 92-year-old woman who donated her lifesavings to President Muhammadu Buhari during election campaigns, was abandoned by the party, saying the woman was well catered for by the ruling party.
 There were reports, especially on social media, that APC had abandoned Ms. Koko after suffering mild paralysis shortly after returning from Abuja where she attended the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Lafogido and Lami Ogbo­ru m’olodo have faulted the state government’s prefer­ence of Giesi ruling house to produce the new Ooni. Both ruling houses, Daily Sun gathered, are of the opinion that the 1980 Ife Chieftain­cy Declaration that formed the basis of the kingmakers’ choice of Giesi was not sac­rosanct, but fraudulent, add­ing that the declaration could no longer stand the test of time.

The Governor, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tunji Bello, listed the names of members of Governing Council for the Lagos State University, Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education, Lagos State Polytechnic, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education and the Lagos State College of Health Technology.
