Saraki attends Ike Ekweremmadu's Special Thanksgiving Service in Enugu State

Senate President Bukola Saraki attended the Thanksgiving Service in honour of Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremmadu yesterday, December 27, at All Saints Covenant Church, Mpu, Anini Local Government Area, Enugu State. A civic reception was later held at Aninri East Development Centre.

Ogun State Police Command intercepts tanker with stolen fuel, one suspect arrested


 
The Ogun State Police Command says its operatives attached to Sagamu Division intercepted a truck loaded with vandalised Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Sagamu area of the state on December 27, Channelstv reports.

DasukiGate Is Blood Money – Borno State Governor Shettima

Not far from the truth...  Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima has described the funds alleged to have been stolen in the $2.1billion arms deal scandal as blood money. Speaking while playing host to Ladan Salihu, the DG of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria in Maiduguri last week, Governor Shettima said the “arms scandal” is a crime against humanity. His words:
“The revelations from dasukigate have shown that some sections of the northern political class and their children were all involved in this massive crime against humanity. This is blood money. What is the difference between all the revelations and the blood money (blood diamond) in Liberia and Sierra Leone and Congo?"

Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo rewrite the record books


It was a good weekend for Nigeria in the English Premier League as Super Eagles duo of Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo attained new heights with their respective clubs. Odion Ighalo struck in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea to become the first ever Watford player to score in five consecutive English topflight games.

Mikel Obi entered the record books in the same game when he came off the bench in the 46th minute to make his 350th appearance in blue, the 21st player to do so. Also, the feat makes him the club’s third-highest overseas appearance maker since his move from Lyn Oslo in 2006.
