The accident in Akwa Ibom occurred at Mbiokporo Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area (LGA) of the state at about 3pm on Thursday, June 23. Eye witnesses say the deceased who was dressed in her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) uniform, was driving in a Toyota Camry vehicle which caught fire. The driver of the vehicle and the commuter at the front sit reportedly escaped while the unknown female corps member was burnt beyond recognition. Residents tried to salvage the situation to no avail, Daily Post reports. In the same vein, about four persons were killed yesterday in a fatal accident in Kaduna state.

The wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, has reportedly breached a major protocol during the recent meeting with Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo. This picture was taken recently when Aisha Buhari paid a visit to Oyo to promote her women health program.

    During the meeting, Buhari’s wife extended her hand to shake the Alaafin.

Meanwhile, the funeral rites of the late Stephen Keshi have now been fixed for July 27-29, with a night of tribute in Abuja, lying-state, church service and novelty football match in Benin City and burial in Illah, his home –town. The children of late Super Eagles’ captain and coach Stephen Keshi also praised the efforts of the Nigeria Football Federation, the governments of Edo and Delta states, and the global football community, since the demise of the legend on June 8.

While the president was treated by a physician and an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist, he was urged to travel out of the country for more extensive care. We’ll probe alleged coup against Buhari, says Army


The Nigerian Army has said that it will investigate the allegation that there was a plot by the service to overthrow the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in a statement on Thursday that the Army would investigate the claim in order to unravel the motive behind the claim.
Usman said that the “baseless and most unfortunate allegation” only existed in the minds of those who originated it.
