The Federal Government will de-risk lending to developers and provide guarantees and credit enhancement to stimulate growth in the housing sector.

300 houses affected by Kaduna earth tremor

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said on Thursday that over 300 houses were affected by the earth tremor that hit Kwoi in Kaduna State last week.
The agency’s Zonal Coordinator in the North West, Musa Illalah, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna.

Twitter users argue over Kelechi Iheanacho and Man U's Marcus Rashford - who's better!


Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first champions league goal last night in Man City's 4-0 win over Borussia  Monchengladbach which led some twitter users to say he is better than Man U's Marcus Rashford.

The comparisons between the pair have come about because they both play for rival clubs, within the same age bracket and came from the youth team but while Iheanacho plays in the champions league with City, Rashford will play in the Europa league with Man U. More tweets after the cut.

As the nation moves to diversify the economy from oil, an Ibadan-based firm, Education Advancement Centre (EAC) yesterday showcased a set of chemical products made from plastics and cans wastes.

The products include diesel, kerosene and alum, which were made from plastic and cans wastes instead of crude oil.

FIFA Ranking: Super Eagles move up three places


The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved three places up the FIFA World Ranking log in a release made available by the Wolrd's football governing body FIFA.
The Eagles who were ranked 67th in last month's ranking moved into 64th position courtesy of points gained from the AFCON 2017 qualifiers win over Tanzania during the period in review. The Eagles also moved two places to 14th spot in Africa.

The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC], on Thursday said it would issue identity cards to agents of the various political parties contesting in Sept. 28 governorship election in Edo. Dr Mustapha Lecky, INEC National Commissioner in charge of South-South, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo. He said that only party agents issued with the INEC identification card would be allowed at polling stations to supervise the election.

Man remanded in prison for stealing taps from Mosque


An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Thursday remanded at the Kirikiri Prisons, Apapa, an unemployed man, Jubril Aja, who confessed to stealing water taps valued at N10,000.
The Magistrate, Mr. A. Adesanya, remanded Aja, 28, in prison after he admitted stealing the taps from a Mosque.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested suspected robbers who invaded the home of Nigerian player, Onazi, in Jos, Plateau State.
A police source exclusively told The news men that operatives attached to the Ilemba Hausa Division swooped on the suspects at their hideout and recovered a Highlander Jeep.
“Four of them are in custody as we speak,” he added.The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest, adding that the suspects would be paraded at the command headquarters later today.
