A peep into the Presidential kitchen

A peep into the Presidential kitchen

An African adage says: “Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.” Whether in Africa, Europe or Asian continents, leaders are burdened. And the support of his family has to come with the full measure for him to succeed.
Leaders of nations battle to contain disparate interests; strive to leave a legacy and unquestionably accept responsibility for acts of commission or omission from subordinates. A leader of any nation spends more time cogitating and less for leisure. He deprives himself and his family the comfort of his presence most of the times. It’s worse when a leader operates in a clime where there is stiff opposition.
In faraway Germany, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari decried the burden posed by a multi-coloured opposition in Nigeria in these words; “It’s not easy to satisfy the whole Nigerian opposition parties or to participate in the government.”

Moses: Mourinho never spoke to me

Moses: Mourinho never spoke to me

Victor Moses is enjoying life under Antonio Conte at Chelsea, having had a strained relationship with former manager Jose Mourinho.
The former Wigan Athletic winger moved to Stamford Bridge in 2012, but has failed to hold down a first-team place, going out on loan on three occasions.
However, he has earned Conte’s trust in the Italian’s first few months in London and is playing regular football, albeit as a wing-back.
“I’m delighted to be back,” Moses told ESPN FC. “I thought I did well in my first season here, but due to circumstances – a manager [Rafa Benitez] going, a manager [Mourinho] coming in – I wasn’t really given a chance.
“[Mourinho] never spoke to me. I thought in my head, ‘He’s got his own players already. I think we chatted a couple of times on the phone – he asked if I was alright at Liverpool [where Moses was on loan], but that was it.

Buhari was joking with remarks on Aisha over interview, Presidency insists

Buhari was joking with remarks on Aisha over interview, Presidency insists

The Presidency is insisting that President Muhammadu Buhari’s comments last week in Germany regarding  First Lady Aisha’s position being in the kitchen and the other room was nothing more than a joke.
The Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to  the President, Garba Shehu, said yesterday that his principal  is gifted with a high sense of humour.

Every room has its benefits…

Woman, if you don’t strive for greatness and empower yourself, you will be relevant only in the kitchen, the living room and ‘the other room’. You will never get to the boardroom.”

I wholeheartedly agree with ‘the quoted’.
However, I wish to make us understand that not everyone is destined to end up in the ‘boardroom’ (as most of us understand it) and it is not every woman that desires to tow the ‘boardroom’ path, either.

Mourinho braces for Chelsea return

Less than 12 months since his second spell as Chelsea manager ended amid on-pitch turmoil and bitter off-pitch recrimination, Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge with Manchester United on Sunday.

The love affair ended last December after nine league defeats and what technical director Michael Emenalo termed “palpable discord” between manager and players, but Mourinho prefers to remember the good times.
