Buhari few days ago....The monarch paid a visit to one of the Nigeria's billionaire businessmen/oil tycoon from Anambra, Prince Engr. Authur Eze after his inauguration at UNN, Enugu state.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described attempt by the Federal Government to secretly to try the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, by using mask-wearing prosecution witnesses as mockery of democracy, saying Nigerians must force President Mohammadu Buhari to purge himself of the blood and water of dictatorship flowing in his veins.

Following David Mark's declaration as winner of the Benue South Senatorial re-run, a Mass service was held this morning at the former Senate President's residence to celebrate his victory.

'I won't devalue the Naira' - President Buhari insists


While speaking at the just concluded Business for Africa, Egypt and the World Forum held in Egypt yesterday February 20th, President Buhari reiterated his stance against the devaluation of the Naira
"Developed countries are competing among themselves and when they devalue they compete better and manufacture and export more. But we are not competing and exporting but importing everything including toothpicks.
So, why should we devalue our currency?. We want to be more productive and self-sufficient in food and other basic things such as clothing. For our government, we like to encourage local production and efficiency.”he said
He added that those who have developed taste for foreign luxury goods should continue to pay for them rather pressure government to devalue the Naira

Fallen Naira: DPC advises CBN Governor Emefiele to resign


The Democratic Peoples Congress DPC, has called on the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to resign following the declining state of the Naira and the Economy. The party's position is contained in a statement released by the party's Chairman, Reverend Olusegun Peters on Friday February 19th.

Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo should stop blaming the National Assembly of a problem he caused.
A former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lt-Gen Jeremiah Useni has hinted that the present anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari will be extended to the administration of ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo.
Useni, who was also a former military governor of old Bendel state, added that once Buhari is through with the probe of his predecessor, the searchlight will be beamed on Obasanjo who he said introduced corruption into the National Assembly. The former minister dropped his hint when he granted an interview to Vanguard.
He made his comment in response to Obasanjo’s letter to National Assembly where he accused lawmakers of corruption. Obasanjo in his now famous letter to the Assembly dated January 13, 2016, said that pool of cars available to lawmakers was sufficient and there were no need for additional cars. The federal lawmakers had planned to buy over 468 additional cars valued at N47.5 billion which President Buhari frowned at during his maiden Presidential Media Chat.

Buhari proceeds on 5-day vacation, Osinbajo to act as President

 
President Buhari has begun a short vacation from today, Feb. 5 to February 10, 2016. A statement by Special Adviser to Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says that while Buhari is away, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will perform the functions of the President.

The statement added that in compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
