PDP vows to resist inauguration of Uche Ogah as PDP governor, says they will rather die than see it happen


Abia state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have vowed to stop the inauguration of Uche Ogah as the new governor of the state, saying they will rather die than see it happen. Chairman of PDP in Abia state, Johnson Onuigbo, made the party's position known after an emergency meeting in Umuahia yesterday night. Onuigbo said the action of INEC to issue Ogah a certificate of return could throw the state into anarchy

N4.9bn fraud: Court to rule on FFK's bail application on July 4th

 
The Federal High in Lagos has postponed to July 4th the ruling on the bail application of former Aviation Minister and former spokesperson of PDP's presidential candidate, Femi Fani-Kayode. At the hearing of his bail application today July 1st, the presiding judge, Justice Hassan said he needs time to review the arguments put forward by Fani-Kayode's lawyer and that of the EFCC.

CBN sets aside N2.5bn for business-inclined corpers


The Central Bank of Nigeria said it has set aside N2.5bn for members of the National Youth Service Corps with good business ideas to actualise their dreams.
The N2.5bn, which was set from the N220bn Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund, the bank said, would be disbursed to the corps members under the Youth Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

Confusion in Abia as court stops swearing-in of Ogah

 
Thursday’s issuance of a Certificate of Return to Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah by the Independent National Electoral Commission  in Abuja has complicated the dispute over the governorship seat of Abia State.

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had, on Monday, ordered the removal of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and ordered INEC to issue a Certificate of Return to Ogah, who was the first runner-up in the state governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Tribunal upholds David Mark’s election
