One
of the most experienced players in the Zambia’s Chipolopolo, Collins
believes the support from the fans would spur them on when they battle
Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers on October 9.
Mbesuma told The Post of Zambia
that it is time for Chipolopolo to step up and put a smile on fans’
faces following the team’s failure to qualify to the 2017 AFCON.
The South Africa-based star is confident that Chipolopolo has the quality capable of delivering.
“I
know the soccer fans are disappointed with us for not qualifying to the
AFCON. It’s now time to step up and play as a team and give them
something to smile about,” said Mbesuma.
“We
just have to work extra hard. In football now, there are no underdogs
and we playing at home with our home supporters; if they can come in
numbers to give us support. We have good players in Zambia, no doubt
about that.”
Also,
Coach Wedson Nyirenda of Zambia has called for discipline and
dedication in camp as Chipolopolo stepped up their build up to the
cracker at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Nyirenda said he was confident that the team would be well prepared before the match.
“I
am just urging the players to be disciplined and dedicated, we can do
it. The players need to believe in themselves; and as the technical
bench that is our duty,” the coach said.
