Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong signs new contract with Genk till 2018
Nigeria national team defender William Troost-Ekong has extended his
contract with Belgian club Genk till 2018.
The central Super Eagles defender had been linked with possible moves to
a number of teams in England in the summer transfer market including
Crystal Palace, Swansea City, Norwich City and Brigthon & Hove
Albion but he has committed his future to Genk till 2018.

Omisore got N1.3bn from Dasuki funds —EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission has traced N1.310bn to some company accounts allegedly
belonging to a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola
Omisore.
The money was said to be part of the
N4.7bn allegedly disbursed by a former Minister of State for Defence,
Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and his two sons, Gbolahan and Babajide.

tycoon, philanthropist and Yoruba leader, Alhaji Ganiyu Akanbi Bello, to
death by hanging.

culpable homicide, punishable by death, while he was discharged and

State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, for receiving N100m through an account
which is operated by her and her husband.
AMCON shuts Senator Bruce’s companies over debt
The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria on Thursday morning sealed the Abuja premises of Silverbird Galleria belonging to Senator Ben Murray Bruce.
The galleria currently houses the Abuja studio of the Radio and Television stations of the senator as well as his other business interests.
Apart from Bruce’s companies, the seven storey building also houses other business interest of private individuals such as Shoprite, among others.
The building was sealed by AMCON through the assistance of law enforcement agencies around 8am following a court order secured by AMCON.
Conspicuously written on the fence of the building as well as other strategic locations was an enforcement notice by AMCON which says, “Possession taken by court order 26/06/16.”

Vardy rejects Gunners move, commits to Leicester
Jamie Vardy gave a huge boost to champions Leicester on Thursday by rejecting an offer from Arsenal to sign a new contract.
The 29-year-old striker — presently on duty with England at the Euro 2016 finals — agreed to an improved four year contract offer from ‘The Foxes’ and spurning Arsenal’s advances after they activated a £20million ($30m) release clause.
“Both parties hope that this announcement will end recent speculation regarding Jamie’s future and confirm his long term commitment to Leicester City Football Club,” read a curt statement from the club.
Vardy, who had only signed a new contract with Leicester in February this year, scored 24 goals last season as Claudio Ranieri’s side stunned their bigger rivals by winning the title by 10 points.

A last-minute effort by the leadership
of the Senate to frustrate the scheduled arraignment of its presiding
officers, Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu,
at a Federal Capital Territory High Court, failed on Wednesday during a
closed session that lasted for about two hours.

leadership had suggested the withdrawal of the case by the litigants,
who are members of the Senate Unity Forum, a suggestion that the
affected persons turned down on the grounds that the case was now being
handled by the Federal Government.
