Patience Jonathan has the right to own any amount of money- Chairperson, Ijaw Mothers Union says


 Following the recent outburst over reports that former First lady Patience Jonathan had claimed ownership of a $31.4 million found in the account of a company currently under investigations for fraud(read here), the Chairperson of Ijaw Mothers Union, Doris McDaniels, has replied Patience Jonathan's critics, stating that the former first lady can own any amount of money as she was the wife of a deputy governor, governor, Vice President and then a President.

Police arrest 50-year-old man for raping girl, 13


the Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old man, Joseph Sunday, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old-girl in Ilaro, Yewa North Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect allegedly ambushed the victim while she was on her way to fetch water and dragged her to an uncompleted building in the Abule Taju area of the town, where he raped her

4, 904 workers recruited by Jonathan may lose jobs


The jobs of 4,904 civil servants, who were recruited by the Federal Civil Service Commission in the last administration of President Goodluck Jonathan,  are under threat as  the  Federal Character Commission has queried the exercise.

El-Rufai reports tremor to FG, calls for calm


Governor Nasir el-Rufai of  Kaduna State on Monday said the Federal Government had been notified about the earth tremor that rocked Kwoi  in  Jaba Local Government  Area of the state on Sunday.
He also called on residents of the state to remain calm following reports of earth tremor in the state that caused panic and confusion among the people of the area.

Sallah: Five killed in Lagos- Ibadan Expressway crash


No fewer than five people have lost their lives, while 15 others were injured after two vehicles had a head-on collision at the Ogunmakin end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday.
