Ondo gov election: INEC distributes 1.2m PVCs


The Independent National Electoral Commission in Ondo State on Wednesday said it had distributed a total of 1,201,073 Permanent Voter Cards to registered voters in the state.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Mr. Olusegun Agbaje, made this known at a stakeholders’ meeting in Akure.

Lecturers blame governors for LAUTECH crisis

THE Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) yesterday blamed Oyo and Osun governors for the ownership crisis in the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
The union urged the Ooni of Ife, Alaafin of Oyo and other traditional rulers in the two states to join  the governors in resolving the crisis.
SSANU expressed concern about the crisis, which is threatening the life and property of workers in the institution.

Youths stage anti-Tinubu protest at APC’s national secretariat


A group of youths stormed the APC National Secretariat on Tuesday to protest what they claim was the overbearing influence of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on its affairs.
The party’s youths, who came under the aegis of the APC Democratic Youth Frontiers, held several banners with anti-Tinubu posters.

No adequate funds for Zambia clash – NFF


President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, on Tuesday raised the alarm over  a  lack of adequate funds   for the Super Eagles’  World Cup qualifier against  Zambia in Ndola on Sunday.
Pinnick, who appeared before the Senate Committee on Sports, lamented  a lack of adequate funding was frustrating   the NFF’s efforts.

Woman electrocuted month to wedding, family blames fiancé


A 35-year-old woman, Loretta Ewere, has been electrocuted at her fiance’s home on Ajoke Kazeem Street in the Idimu area of Lagos State.
news men learnt that Ewere’s fiancé, Segun Tolani, was fixing an electrical fault when the incident happened.
She was said to have been rushed to a private hospital in the area but was rejected before being confirmed dead at the Igando General Hospital.
