One of the most experienced players in the Zambia’s Chipolopolo, Collins believes the support from the fans would spur them on when they battle Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers on October 9.

Mbesuma told The Post of Zambia that it is time for Chipolopolo to step up and put a smile on fans’ faces following the team’s failure to qualify to the 2017 AFCON.

Tinubu’s allegations not true – Odigie-Oyegun


The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has said he will not take  issue with the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
He, however, said “most” of the allegations in the media report were “not true,” noting that the party would focus on the September 28 governorship election in Edo State, which he said was his “priority”.
Odigie-Oyegun said this on Monday in Benin in response to the call by the former Lagos State governor for his removal.

Edo election: NSCDC deploys 15,250 personnel


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said that it deployed 15, 250 personnel to Edo for the governorship election in the state on Wednesday.
The acting Deputy Commandant-General (Operations) of the corps, Mr Hillary Madu, made this known at a news conference on Tuesday in Benin.

Ali Bongo was sworn in Tuesday as Gabon’s president after the country’s top court controversially validated his fiercely contested election win, taking his family’s reign over the oil-rich country into a fifth decade.

German data protection authorities on Tuesday said they had blocked Facebook from collecting subscriber data from its subsidiary WhatsApp, citing privacy concerns.
Facebook and WhatsApp promised in the wake of the Silicon Valley giant’s 2014 acquisition of the messaging app that they would not share data, Hamburg’s Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Johannes Caspar recalled in a statement.

Robbers attack Balogun Market, one killed, three injured


Armed robbers have attacked Balogun Market on the Lagos Island, hacking three security men with machetes, in a failed attempt to burgle some shops in the market.
news men learnt that in the attack on Friday at about 5am, one of the robbers, a Nigerien identified only as Saidu, was also hacked to death by a mob.
