The Twitter handle, @NDAvengers, used by rampaging militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, to announce its activities has been suspended by the social media platform.

N4.9bn fraud: Fani-Kayode, others get N250m bail


A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail in the sum of N250m to a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, who is being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for an alleged fraud of N4.9bn.

Avengers resume hostilities, blow up NNPC, Chevron’s oil facilities


THE Federal Government’s proposed peace talks with militants on Sunday morning suffered a major setback as the Niger Delta Avengers blew up several oil facilities belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Chevron Nigeria Limited and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Corporation.
Our correspondent gathered that the attacks occurred simultaneously leaving what industry sources described as major oil facilities shattered.

EFCC arrests wanted Osun ex-deputy gov, Omisore


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, who was declared wanted about a month ago.
It was learnt that Omisore was arrested at his Abuja home located at 1 Kainji Crescent, Off Lake Chad Street, Maitama, by a team of EFCC operatives on Sunday morning.
“Upon a thorough search of his apartment, we recovered N1m and $21,000 in cash from him,” a source said.

A statement by the governor’s Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Yomi Layinka, described the death of the lawmaker in the hands of suspected assassins at a relatively young age as not only tragic but condemnable.
