Ijurin Day 2016 has come and gone. Permit me to say that the grandour
and splendour of the yearly celebration remains. This year celebration
was like no other! It was spetacular and unique in two major ways.
First was the chritening of the eve of the celebration, that is,
Friday 2nd, 2016 as the 'UA Nite' by HRM Oba Joachim Afolabi, the
Agungesoye 11, Ojurin of Ijurin Ekiti.
The UA Nite that was hosted by the firebrand, dynamite and purposeful Newstars
featured among other things, Ere ibile, ewi, Miss Ijurin Day contest,
barbeque, DJ show and so on. It was a night like no other night as many
young and old converge at Aafin for the UA Nite. The Newstarian whose
member includes-Kayode Abe, Peter Omoleye, Steve Ogunyebi, Tunde
Olorunfemi, Deji Adewale and Dayo Akinwumi were equally on ground to add
colour to the Nite.
The second uniqueness of the just
concluded Ijurin Day 2016 was the launching of NAISSCOPE- a publication
that showcases National Association of Ijurin Students. This
epoch-making magazine was spetacular not only for being first of its
kind but also for the words of wisdom, encouragements and show of Love
for Ijurin by all the interviewee. It was a magazine we all love.
ComradeYemiOsadiya and his witty and awesome executive are applauded for
their ingenuity and love for NAIS and Ijurin in general.
What
more can we say...? Next year Ijurin Day will be greater in Jesus Name.
